5g iPod got wet, only displays reset screen?
My sister has a 30gb 5g iPod that she claims got wet in her bag at the pool. When she realized that it was wet, she shook it out and turned it on. She said that a frowning face showed up on the screen. When she gave it to me, I opened it up to dry. The board didn’t show any signs of corrosion. After it dried for several days, I put it back together and plugged it in to My Computer. After it charged up a bit, I turned it on. Now it only displays the apple reset screen. My computer (and several others) and iTunes doesn’t recognize it, and I can’t get it into disk mode to reformat the drive. What should I do?
You need to try Silica Gel Packets. There was a good article on associatedcontent.com that explains how to dry an iPod, MP3 player, cell phones, or any electronics. You need to place your iPod in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the iPod and its components, something air drying will not do!
